Popjustice has been all over British singer MPHO for awhile now. She's of the Kelis/Janelle Monae/Santigold realm of mixing many genres, most notably r&b, funk, new wave and pop. In other words, she's the kind of singer that I wish people like Beyonce were. Her Echo Beach-sampling Box 'n Locks is a great summer single that has gone unfortunately unnoticed. The rest of the upcoming album (Pop Art) is pretty good too. Definitely along the same lines. I love the combination of soul and new wave. Unfortunately it's not a genre that ever sees the major success that it should.

Don't you worry none. Boxs 'n' Locks isn't even out yet! Next week it's released in the UK. It's been playlisted at Radio 1 too, so she's getting plenty of attention!
