Electric Lady Lab - Open Doors

"I keep calling your name"

Dance music is best when it offers a true sense of euphoria. Danish duo Electric Lady Lab have that down. I wrote about them once upon a time when their debut album was released, and now they're working on their second. Pleasingly, they've stepped up their game. Open Doors is a total triumph--huge and melodic and emotional. It's the kind of track Scandinavia does best. The amazing Scandipop featured the song today. I'm basically cosigning every thing they said about it, which is lazy of me. But the song deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.

Diana Vickers - Mad At Me

"I promise it was just one kiss"

So here's something you might have missed. Diana Vickers' (of X-Factor fame) second album was released quietly towards the beginning of last month. She's on an independent label now, even though her debut was pretty successful. I never really connected with her during her time on XF and liked some of the debut, but not all. This album, though, is a surprisingly consistent bunch of 80's-flavored electro tracks. I'm surprised at how much I like it. A lot of that is probably down to Miranda Cooper -- part of epic production/songwriting team Xenomania -- cowriting every track. I am a massive, massive Xenomania fan, and it's always a treat to hear new Cooper-penned tracks. Mad At Me is just one of ten fantastic songs. It's probably the most 80's influenced of the bunch. If you like this, be sure to check out the rest of the album, because I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised.

CLMD vs KISH feat. Fröder - The Stockholm Syndrome

"Everyone knows the city I keep thinking of"

Sorry I was gone for a long weekend. I was on the road literally all of yesterday, but now I'm back and ready for new music. Or at least, semi-new. New to me. The artist collective behind this track is a bit of a mouthful, but from what I can tell, this was originally a song by Norwegian band KISH, but then they were joined by CLMD, which is the acronym for producers Carl Louis & Martin Danielle for this remix (which doesn't actually sound miles away from the original). Whew. Bottom line is, this is an amazing track. For someone as obsessed with Stockholm as I am, this is like an aural reminder of how awesome and beautiful the city is. It has a dreamy electronic feel with a hook that sticks immediately.
